There are many benefits of multilingualism. That is why it is one of the pillars of the educational project of the International Private School Eurocolegio Casvi. Speaking several languages in today’s global and interconnected society is of vital importance.
Being able to communicate in English, German and Chinese as our students do, will help them to communicate in any situation, country and with any person.
Moreover, it is a fact that international mobility will be a constant in their future. For this reason, at Casvi, we not only promote the learning of these three languages, but also an international mentality. We do this through the International Baccalaureate methodology with its three programs PEP, PAI and PD.

As one of our main objectives is the promotion of internationality in Casvi, our main tool is multilingualism with the teaching of three foreign languages.
-In ENGLISH, practically all of our students, thanks to our own methodology, finish the Baccalaureate with CAE and/or PROFICIENCY degrees from the University of Cambridge (Common European Framework). It is taught from 1 year old, being the teaching load of this language in Preschool 50%. It is taught in eminently practical classes, with native and bilingual teachers who accompany them throughout the school day.
For the development of reading comprehension, a “Reading Plan” has been implemented in Early Childhood Education, which will continue during the next courses. Its objective is to encourage students’ interest in reading.
From 5th grade Primary to 4th Grade Secondary, we work with smaller groups of students distributed by performance levels; thus, four levels are established in the MYP courses, both in General English classes and in Conversation classes. In this way, dynamic and participatory classes are encouraged.
In Baccalaureate, four levels are also established. In this way, it is possible to work on the preparation for external exams at different levels.
From 5th grade onwards, GERMAN and CHINESE are taught as compulsory subjects for all students. In the same way, they are taught in small groups with bilingual and native teachers. The teaching of these languages emphasizes the communicative approach, which seeks to develop the students’ oral and written expression skills.
Within the framework of this approach, special emphasis is placed on oral expression. All this is worked on with the objective of reaching, from 5th grade of Primary School, in German, level B2 of the Common European Framework (Goethe Institute); and in Chinese, YCT1 (Confucius).
The educational project of the International Private School Eurocolegio Casvi, in relation to multilingualism, also contemplates students with learning difficulties. In this case, the Guidance Department collaborates with the language teachers in the necessary adaptations and carries out a follow-up, thus achieving an inclusive education. The same happens if the students come from other nations. In this case, they receive linguistic support in order to reach the school’s language of instruction more quickly. In addition, specific Spanish classes for foreigners are offered for those who stay in our school for a cultural exchange.
