The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training is the main organizer of these scholarships and the deadline to apply is September 30th. The process started on August 9th. This is the period that the Casvi students will have to submit their applications if they are considered eligible to do so.
Scholarships and study grants are one of the most effective tools in making the principle of equal opportunities possible in schools throughout Spain. Its aim is that no student gives up studying due to economic reasons, thus ensuring social cohesion and equal opportunities.
One group that requires special attention for this purpose is students in need of educational support, either associated with some type of disability, for which the need for special education is necessary, or a high intellectual capacity that requires additional educational activities.
That is why, paid for by the national budget, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training have been awarding grants aimed at collaborating with the expenses that the education of the aforementioned students generates for their families.
Thus, for the 2020-2021 academic year, the following individualized grants are awarded:
a) Grants for students including those affected by ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) that require certain specific educational support, either for a specific period of schooling or throughout, derived from disability or serious behavioral disorders.
Students affected by ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), not included in the preceding paragraph and requiring these specific educational supports and attention, may also benefit from them.
b) Subsidies for special educational needs derived from disability or serious behavioral disorders for large families. Pupils affected by ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), belonging to large families, not included in the previous paragraph, may also benefit from subsidies.
c) Grants for specific additional programs aimed at students in need of educational support associated with high intellectual capacities.
Applications for both groups must be completed online at www.educacionyfp.gob.es or through the virtual branch of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training at the https://sede.educacion.gob.es.
Once the application has been completed, if the applicant can be identified by any of the signature systems accepted by the virtual branch, the electronic process of filing the application can be completed by attaching, through the website, in pdf format (scanned), the documentation required by the application itself.
The aid granted according to this Resolution shall be incompatible with the general scholarships granted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training or with any other aid granted for the same purpose.
