The Guidance Department is made up of a team of highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in education. Their task is to work to ensure that all students at Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School have a comprehensive development that will help them to achieve academic success, as well as to develop the necessary tools to be successful in their professional and personal lives. What are, therefore, the psycho-pedagogical actions that are carried out? How important is vocational guidance?

Psycho-pedagogical actions of the Guidance Department

Our Guidance Department, according to the needs of each of our students, carries out the following actions:

Supports the teaching and learning process to meet the needs of pupils.
Early detection of pupils with developmental delay and high performance in the different areas of development in Early Childhood Education.
Attends to and advises families, teachers and pupils.
Carries out psycho-pedagogical evaluations and offers recommendations to parents and teachers to treat different learning difficulties.
Diagnoses pupils with high abilities and advises teachers when planning differentiated teaching.
Provides pedagogical advice to the school.
Guarantees equal opportunities of access, permanence and promotion in the educational system.
Facilitates social and educational integration.
It enables specific attention to be given to foreign pupils with no knowledge of the Spanish language or with a serious curricular gap.
It enhances the enrichment aspects of diversity.

There are also a number of other performances scheduled each year:

Cognitive assessments.
Assessment of Reading Comprehension and Fluency.
Assessment of basic mental skills to check that the pupils’ development corresponds to that expected for a child of their age.
Socio-emotional charts are carried out to find out how pupils relate to each other in the classroom, their socio-emotional competences and their social skills.
Questionnaires are carried out to find out about the social climate and coexistence in the classroom. The aim is to prevent possible cases of bullying.
Participation in the redistribution of pupils at different times in their academic life.

Vocational Guidance from the Guidance Department

At Casvi we are aware that the clearer our students are about their career goal, the more effectively they will work to achieve it. For this reason, the Guidance Department helps them to reflect on their professional vocation as early as possible. This serves as a guide and stimulus in their passage through Secondary Education and Baccalaureate. And it manages to guide their steps towards the most appropriate university choice.

Thus, vocational guidance is carried out at Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School from Secondary Education onwards. In this way, our students can learn about their potential, vocation, professional interests and the possibilities offered by the outside world. They are made aware of possible jobs in the future and the training they need in the present to do them. It is carried out with all kinds of activities: tests, talks, activities….

And as a culmination of this work, the Guidance Department organises the following events:

University Orientation Fair in our own facilities, of national and international character. All our students from 4th ESO take part in it. In its last edition there were more than 40 public and private universities, both from inside and outside our country.

Since the 2019-2020 academic year, we have been holding a meeting with former students. They are in charge of advising and clarifying doubts to our Baccalaureate students. They give them advice on how to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Casvi and share their own experience.

Given that due to the IB Methodology, more and more students are showing interest in pursuing their university studies abroad, this academic year we have begun to hold the 1st University Fair of Consultancy Firms. All of them represent a large number of high-level foreign universities.
