X University Orientation Fair

Casvi Villaviciosa > Orientación > X University Orientation Fair
Feria en Orientación Universitaria Online en Casvi

In this X University Orientation Fair that the pandemic has forced us, once again, to carry out online, all the students of the Baccalaureate and Diploma Programme (IB) have participated. Their parents, who were also invited to this great opportunity to find out about the current university offer, also took part.

A University Orientation Fair that has been attended by nearly 40 public and private universities, both from inside and outside our country. Among them, the URJC, Carlos III, Politécnica de Madrid, Universidad Autónoma, CEU, Francisco de Vitoria, ISDE, Universidad Europea, ISDEM, Glion University, Falmouth University and so on and so forth.

But what is the aim of this fair organised by our Guidance Department? What other vocational guidance activities are organised at Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School?

Objectives of the X University Orientation Fair

The aim of Casvi’s Guidance Department is to help our students in their choice of studies. The way to do this is based on their motivations, aptitudes and attitudes, so that they can achieve their career goals. All this without leaving their school, and in this case, without leaving their own homes.

Through video calls via Microsoft Teams Platform, our students and parents in the Baccalaureate and Diploma Programme (IB) have received information about any and all of their possible future choices. Even if their university wishes are focused on international universities. Thanks to our International Baccalaureate methodology, with its three programmes (PYP, MYP and DP), many Casvi students decide to study abroad.

Other vocational guidance activities

In addition to this University Orientation Fair, Casvi’s Guidance Department organises another series of activities that aim to:

  1. To make them reflect as early as possible on their professional vocation.
To act as a guide and stimulus in their passage through the different educational stages.
And to make it easier for them to make the right university choice.

At Casvi we are aware that the clearer our students are about their professional future, the more efficiently they will work towards achieving their goal.

To achieve this, vocational guidance at Casvi begins in 1st Grade of Secondary Education. A series of actions are programmed every year:

  1. With students in 1st and 2nd ESO, activities are carried out to help them to know what their strengths, skills and aptitudes are.
  2. With students in 3rd and 4th ESO a group talk is programmed to guide them in the choice of itineraries and modalities in 1st Baccalaureate. They are also given a test of professional interests for the choice of itineraries in 4th year and modality in Baccalaureate. In addition, an individual interview is held with each student in these courses to discuss their particularities.
  3. In 2nd Baccalaureate, another Vocational Guidance test is carried out to help in the final choice of studies to be undertaken and, once again, an individual interview is held with each student.

Finally, as a culmination of this work, the Guidance Department organises, in addition to the University Orientation Fair:

  1. A meeting with former students (in this case they are the ones in charge of clarifying doubts to our Baccalaureate students).
  2. And last year, as a novelty, the celebration of the I University Fair of Consultants, with representatives of high level foreign universities.
