This year, the ICT Security Trophies awarded by ‘Red Seguridad’ have gone to eight organisations and professionals. The most outstanding of 2023 in the field of cybersecurity.
AWARD WINNERS AT THE XVII TIC SECURITY TROPHIES
In addition to the Casvi Schools, other winners were GuardedBox, Zerolynx, the Foundation for Research of the University and Polytechnic Hospital La Fe of the Valencian Community, Xabier Mitxelena, Women4Cyber Spain, General Rafael García Hernández and ‘Angelucho’ (posthumously).
Numerous professionals from the cybersecurity sector, both public and private, paid tribute to them at a gala event in Madrid.
The ceremony was opened by the director of ‘Red Seguridad’, Yolanda Duro. In her speech, she stated that “cybersecurity is not a responsibility, but a fundamental necessity”. “Trust is essential in any relationship and organisation, but in this field it is paramount. And all the award winners are worthy of that trust,” he added.
TROPHY FOR THE EDUCATIONAL CENTRE SEGUR TIC FOR CASVI SCHOOLS
Juan Luis Yagüe, CEO of the Casvi Schools (Colegio Privado Internacional Eurocolegio Casvi, Colegio Concertado Eurocolegio Casvi and Casvi International American School), was in charge of collecting the “Trophy for the SegurTIC Educational Centre” of the year. The reason for the award was, according to ‘Red Seguridad’, the promotion of cybersecurity that, they say, we have been developing for years through workshops and various actions and initiatives. All with the aim of making students aware of the different risks.
“Cybersecurity is a priority in our schools. We know that protecting our students in the digital environment is crucial. That is why we have implemented robust security measures, but we also know that the main security gap is our finger. We have to educate children in the good use of technology, always supporting and counting on the support of families,” says Juan Luis Yagüe.
“Schools must work closely with families in the education of our children. Teaming up with families is fundamental to ensure that our students receive a comprehensive and quality education. At Casvi Schools we incorporate into our curriculum all the new developments that arise in society, taking on the challenge to complement family education, preparing them to face a constantly changing world. For this reason, our commitment to families and technology has been, is and will be firm”, he concludes.
