Casvi Villaviciosa students explore CERN in Geneva: Science and learning without borders

Visita a Ginebra, al CERN, de lols alumnos de 1º Bachillerato y Programa Diploma de Casvi Villaviciosa

Our 2nd Baccalaureate and Diploma Programme (IB) students are enjoying a unique and unforgettable experience in Geneva, Switzerland. During this exciting academic expedition, they have had the opportunity to explore CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. In doing so, they have been immersed in the fascinating world of physics and the mysteries of the universe.

On their visit to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s largest particle accelerator, they discovered how scientists work to unlock the secrets of the cosmos. They also toured CERN’s interactive museum. There, they participated in activities that allowed them to understand complex concepts about subatomic particles and energy in a practical and fun way.

TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING IN AN INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

In addition to the scientific activities, our students took the opportunity to visit some of Geneva’s most emblematic places. This is the case of the Botanical Garden, a space where they explored biodiversity in a unique natural environment. They also visited the United Nations headquarters, a visit that allowed them to reflect on the importance of collaborative work to address major global challenges.

This trip is part of Casvi’s commitment to real, practical and transformative learning. Something that prepares our students not only for academic challenges. It also prepares them to become global citizens committed to science, sustainability and social well-being.

This type of initiative, such as the visit to CERN, reinforces the values of the Diploma Programme, International Baccalaureate. A programme in which curiosity, research and action are fundamental pillars. When they return home, our students will bring with them not only unforgettable memories. But also a new perspective on the importance of science and knowledge in building a better world.

We are very proud of them and their spirit of exploration and learning!
