In the framework of International Children’s Cancer Day, which will be commemorated tomorrow, the students of the 2nd Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate have carried out an inspiring initiative in Casvi Villaviciosa. Through talks and workshops, they have raised awareness among their Primary School classmates about this disease, the importance of solidarity and support for those who suffer from it.
TALKS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND SENSITISATION
Throughout the week, our students have given information sessions to the youngest children, explaining what childhood cancer is and how we can help children suffering from it. They also talked about the Aladina Foundation, an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of these children and their families, encouraging everyone to join their “Pañuelo Challenge” initiative.
As a symbolic gesture of support, they invited their colleagues to bring their own yellow badge, the colour that represents the fight against this disease.

CREATIVITY AND SOLIDARITY IN THE SCARF WORKSHOPS

Today, culminating this week of awareness-raising, the pupils organised creative workshops in which the youngest pupils designed and decorated their own scarves. Through art and imagination, they have expressed their support and solidarity with children suffering from cancer, demonstrating that small gestures can make a big difference.
"SCARF CHALLENGE AS A CASVI ACTIVITY: ENGAGEMENT, ACTION AND REFLECTION
This initiative, the “Pañuelo Challenge” in collaboration with the Aladina Foundation, is part of the CAS Activities (Creativity, Activity and Service). These are fundamental to the International Baccalaureate (IB) methodology promoted by Casvi Villaviciosa International School. Through them, our students not only broaden their knowledge. They also develop essential values such as empathy, social commitment and teamwork.

With actions such as this one, or the one that took place a few weeks ago for the benefit of the ALBA Foundation, we reaffirm our commitment to a comprehensive education that goes beyond the classroom. In this way, we foster in our students the desire to change the world with every step they take.
