Emily Carrillo Zhang, a Year 5 primary school pupil at our school, has taken first place in the “Debs A Women’s” category. She achieved this following a brilliant performance at the 5th Logroño Open figure skating competition, consolidating a successful career that began three years ago.
TALENT AND PERSEVERANCE ON ICE
Hard work, discipline and a passion for sport have once again borne fruit within the Casvi Villaviciosa school community. A few days ago, the city of Logroño hosted the 5th Logroño Open – La Rioja Championship, a must-attend event on the national figure skating calendar. There, our pupil Emily shone in her own right by winning the gold medal.
Emily demonstrated her technical and artistic skill in the Women’s Debs A category. This victory is no fluke; Emily has been figure skating for three years, during which time she has earned numerous accolades thanks to her daily dedication. She is currently developing her talent and perfecting her technique by training with the La Nevera Ice Club in Majadahonda, a leading name in the sport.
