The PYP Exhibition is much more than an academic event. It is the symbolic closure of the Primary Education stage at Casvi Villaviciosa International School and the beginning of a new educational phase with more autonomous, critical and creative students.
As part of the Primary School Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB), this exhibition allows our 6th grade students to apply, integrate and communicate everything they have learnt throughout their time at Casvi Villaviciosa. A transformative experience that not only strengthens their knowledge. It also strengthens their values, skills and attitude to learning.
WHAT IS THE PYP EXHIBITION?
The PYP Exhibition is a collaborative research project in which students choose a significant topic, research it in depth and present their findings to the educational community.
In this edition, the unit of enquiry revolved around the concept of “Following the trail”, from a historical perspective. Each team developed its project focusing on a key moment in human history, such as the Second World War, the Renaissance or ancient civilisations. All of this is linked to current global issues such as human rights, armed conflicts or the advance of technology.

A DEEP AND GUIDED LEARNING PROCESS
Over several weeks, our students have worked with commitment, rigour and creativity, following the key stages of the IB enquiry process:
- Formulation of relevant questions on the chosen topic.
- Research with reliable sources, including bibliography, expert interviews and supervised digital resources.
- Analysis of the information and organisation of your findings into a structured report.

- Reflection sessions with tutors to consolidate ideas, overcome difficulties and receive guidance.
- Preparation of an oral and visual presentation that communicates your work effectively.

“The PYP Exhibition helps them discover that they are capable of thinking for themselves, of organising a complete project and of defending their ideas with confidence.
Carolina, tutor in 6th Grade Primary School
THE PEP EXHIBITION: STANDS, CREATIVITY AND COMMUNICATION
On the day of the event, each team set up a thematic stand where they presented their research to classmates, teachers and families. They used models, timelines, videos, diagrams, dramatisations and even recorded interviews.

One of the most exciting moments was when the students explained their projects in first person, answering questions, sharing anecdotes of the enquiry process and demonstrating great oral expression skills.
“What I enjoyed most was researching the Renaissance and seeing how it changed the way of thinking in Europe. Now I understand better why art and science are important.
C. V. 6th Grade Primary School Student
A LIVING EXAMPLE OF IB METHODOLOGY
The PYP Exhibition faithfully reflects the pedagogical principles of the International Baccalaureate:
TRANSDISCIPLINARY APPROACH
Students integrate knowledge from different areas (History, Language, Science, Technology…), breaking down the traditional barriers between subjects.
KEY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Throughout the process, students strengthen their autonomy, critical thinking, teamwork and time management. They learn how to search for information, assess its reliability and present it clearly.
IB COMMUNITY PROFILE
This project shows how they have developed attributes of the IB profile, such as being inquirers, reflective, communicators, balanced and caring.

AN EDUCATIONAL MILESTONE THAT LEAVES ITS MARK
The PYP Exhibition is one of the most significant moments in our pupils’ school life. It not only closes a stage, but also marks the beginning of a more conscious and global learning process.
From Casvi Villaviciosa, we congratulate all the students of 6th Primary for their effort, creativity and maturity. And we thank the involvement of teachers and families, whose support is essential in this type of project.
