What a spectacular way to celebrate a great academic achievement! After being crowned the brand-new champions of the 9th ‘Fly with Your Story’ Competition, organised by the Air and Space Force, our pupils in Years 2 and 4 of ESO at Casvi Villaviciosa have enjoyed an unforgettable prize trip to the General Air Force Academy in San Javier (Murcia).
A day that was unique, inspiring and full of values which we summarise below:
A JOURNEY MILITARY ON BOARD AN AIRBUS C-295
The adventure got off to a flying start at Getafe Air Base. The students boarded an impressive Airbus C-295 (T.21) belonging to the Armed Forces. During the outbound flight, they had the opportunity to gain an up-close insight into the workings and secrets of this military aircraft’s powerful turboprop engines. A fascinating first experience!
OFFICIAL TROPHY PRESENTATION IN SAN JAVIER
The proudest moment of the day took place in the Assembly Hall of the General Air Academy. There, our students were officially presented with the long-awaited champions’ trophy. This was in recognition of the effort, historical research and teamwork they had demonstrated throughout the competition.
AIR SHOW AND ELITE PATROLS
The adrenaline really kicked in with a front-row aerial display by the Mirlo Formation. In addition, the students were able to take a guided tour to discover iconic historic aircraft and gain first-hand insight into the equipment and the roles carried out by the Air Police.
LUNCH AND CHIT-CHAT WITH THE FUTURE OFFICERS
Sin duda, uno de los momentos más entrañables y enriquecedores del día fue la comida. Nuestros chicos compartieron mesa y mantel con los propios cadetes de la Academia. Entre plato y plato, charlaron, compartieron confidencias y descubrieron en primera persona cómo es el exigente día a día, la disciplina y los valores de los futuros oficiales del Ejército del Aire.
