The Carnival has flooded with joy, creativity and tradition the classrooms and corridors of Casvi Villaviciosa, turning our school into a stage full of magic and colour. A day in which fun was the main attraction, but also learning. Celebrations such as this bring countless benefits to our students’ development.
AN EXPLOSION OF COLOUR IN KINDERGARTEN AND PRIMARY SCHOOL
From early in the morning, pupils from Early Years Education and Primary Education arrived at school dressed as their favourite characters. Superheroes, princesses, animals, historical figures and many other original creations filled every corner of the school with colour.
To celebrate this special day, a big Carnival party was organised where music, dancing and fun were the main ingredients. A perfect occasion for the children to let their imagination run wild and share unforgettable moments with their classmates and teachers.
On this occasion, the novelty has been that our students from Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Diploma Programme also have participated. An initiative by students from Year 1 Diploma Programme (IB), within their CAS subject, which have launched this creative challenge for all of them. And they have done so with the theme: “WE WERE WRONG ABOUT SOMEONE”.
THEATRE AND CARNIVAL, A PERFECT COMBINATION
Art and creativity also played a major role in this celebration thanks to the participation of the Casvi Theatre Groups. Our talented students performed a special play about Carnival, created for their classmates in the Infant School. With this performance, in addition to enjoying themselves and entertaining others, they put into practice important skills such as oral expression, acting and teamwork.
BENEFIT OF CELEBRATING CARNIVAL AT SCHOOL
Playful activities such as Carnival have a very positive impact on children’s development. Among its many benefits, the following stand out:
- Encourages creativity and imagination: Choosing and creating a costume is a process in which pupils develop their creative thinking.
- Builds confidence and self-expression: By dressing up as their favourite characters and playing different roles, children gain self-confidence.
- Encourages integration and a sense of community: Celebrations like this strengthen the bond between students, promoting coexistence and teamwork.
- Learning through play: Enjoyment while learning is key to Casvi Villaviciosa’s methodology, aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) approach.
