A new language exchange programme between students from Casvi and Eisenhower International School in Tulsa, USA, has begun. A unique opportunity for cultural immersion and language learning. This programme, known as “Tulsa Exchange”, is becoming a pillar in the education of both schools. Thanks to this activity, together with the other exchanges that take place in our school, intercultural understanding and personal development of the participants is promoted.
A PROGRAMME WITH HISTORY
The “Tulsa Exchange” is not a new programme. It has been running for several years and has proven to be a resounding success. Since its inception, it has allowed dozens of students each year to experience life in another country, learn a new language and make international friends.
For almost two months, Casvi Villaviciosa 5th and 6th grade students will be hosted by local families in Tulsa, in addition to attending classes daily at the Eisenhower International School.
In the same way, students from this school will soon visit Spain to enjoy the same linguistic adventure and live, in turn, with families from Casvi Villaviciosa.
This was the emotional farewell to our students by their families, before leaving for the United States.
OBJECTIVES OF THE "TULSA EXCHANGE
The main objective of the “Tulsa Exchange” is to provide students with a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond the classroom. By living with host families and attending classes in a foreign country, students not only improve their language skills. They also develop a greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
Such experiences are invaluable in today’s globalised world, where the ability to communicate and understand different perspectives is crucial.
ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCES
During their stay in Tulsa, in the state of Oklahoma, students will participate in a variety of activities designed to enrich their experience. There, for example, Casvi Villaviciosa students will have the opportunity to visit emblematic places such as the Philbrook Museum or the Oklahoma Aquarium. They will also participate in school and extracurricular activities, which will allow them to fully integrate into American school life.
Tulsa students visiting Spain will enjoy excursions to historical sites such as Toledo and Segovia, as well as participating in local festivities and cultural activities.
OTHER LANGUAGE EXCHANGES IN CASVI VILLAVICIOSA
In addition to the “Tulsa Exchange“, Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School organises other exchange programmes that enrich the educational experience of its students.
