Casvi Villaviciosa International School has started a new edition of the Tulsa Exchange. A consolidated programme that offers 5th and 6th grade students a unique experience of cultural and linguistic immersion in the United States.
For almost two months, students live with host families in Tulsa (Oklahoma), while attending classes at the Eisenhower International School, extending their learning beyond the classroom and strengthening key skills in a globalised world.
A PROGRAMME WITH A PROVEN HISTORY AND SUCCESS
The Tulsa Exchange has been running for several years and has become one of the most valued initiatives by the Casvi educational community. Dozens of students have already lived this experience that combines the learning of the English language with the integration in a different culture. In this way, they also create bonds of friendship that transcend borders.
On the other hand, the programme is bidirectional: in the near future it will be the families of Casvi Villaviciosa who will receive the students from Tulsa, promoting a real and enriching exchange in both directions.
This was the emotional farewell to our students by their families, before leaving for the United States.

And so, too, the emotional reception.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THE "TULSA EXCHANGE" PROGRAMME
The Tulsa Exchange aims at much more than just language improvement. Among its main objectives are:
- Improve language skills through total immersion.
- Encourage autonomy, adaptability and resilience of learners.
- Develop an open and intercultural mindset, consistent with the attributes of the International Baccalaureate.
- Encourage responsibility and coexistence in a different family environment.
As Casvi’s exchange coordinator Luisa Morreale explains,This programme is a fundamental educational tool. Our students not only learn English, they learn to live in a diverse world, to communicate and to understand other realities”.
UNFORGETTABLE ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCES
During their stay, Casvi students participate in excursions and cultural activities in and around Tulsa: visits to the Philbrook Museum, the Oklahoma Aquarium, local festivals and sports activities with their American peers.
Similarly, Tulsa students visiting Spain enjoy excursions to cities such as Toledo and Segovia, as well as being integrated into day-to-day school life at Casvi Villaviciosa.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PARTICIPANTS
Testimonials from pupils and parents reflect the positive impact of this experience:
It was an amazing experience. I learned a lot about American culture and improved my English in a way that I never would have been able to in the classroom.
Spain is a wonderful country. My host family was very kind and made me feel at home. I learned a lot about their culture and improved my Spanish a lot.
It has been exciting to see how my son has gained in confidence and autonomy in such a short time.
THE FUTURE OF THE TULSA EXCHANGE
The continued success of the programme ensures its permanence as an essential part of Casvi’s international offer. Along with other exchanges with Germany, Canada and different cities in the USA, the Tulsa Exchange consolidates Casvi Villaviciosa’s commitment to a global, comprehensive and transformative education.
