Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School, in Villaviciosa de Odón, is experiencing two exciting events these days. On the one hand, the return of our 2nd and 3rd grade of Secondary students participating in our Language Exchange Programme. In this case with the Lakes International Language Academy (LILA), in Forest Lake, Minnesota. On the other hand, the arrival, one day later, of the students from this school who will live this same cultural adventure, now with us, for the next six weeks.
A WARM AND EMOTIONAL WELCOME
The Minnesota students were received with great enthusiasm by their classmates and host families at Casvi Villaviciosa. The welcome included, first, a special ceremony in the assembly hall. The importance of this linguistic and cultural exchange was highlighted.
Afterwards, a delicious breakfast based on our traditional “chocolate con churros”, prepared by our own kitchen team. The American students were undoubtedly thrilled and grateful for the warm welcome.
OBJECTIVES OF THE LANGUAGE EXCHANGE
The main objective of our “Minnesota Exchange” is to promote language learning and intercultural understanding. By staying with local families in Minnesota, Casvi Villaviciosa students have had the opportunity to experience, first hand, everyday life in the United States. Now, it is the turn of the Minnesota students to immerse themselves in the culture of our country and improve their Spanish.
ACADEMIC AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
During their stay at Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School, the Minnesota students will participate in various academic and extracurricular activities alongside their Spanish classmates. These activities include regular classes; cultural workshops; visits to emblematic places such as Parque Europa in Madrid, or Segovia; and joint projects that foster collaboration and mutual understanding.
THE CULTURAL ADVENTURE IN MINNESOTA
Before the arrival of the Minnesota students to Casvi Villaviciosa, our 2nd and 3rd ESO grade of Secondary students had the opportunity to live a similar experience in Forest Lake. For six weeks, they immersed themselves in American culture, improved their English and created friendships that will last a lifetime. This exchange, which has been repeated in previous years, has proved to be a valuable tool for the students’ all-round development.

OTHER DESTINATIONS IN OUR LANGUAGE EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
In addition to Minnesota, Casvi Villaviciosa organises exchanges with other destinations such as Tulsa (Oklahoma), Canada and Germany. These cultural and linguistic adventures are organised without intermediaries, through direct contact with schools all over the world, and are open to all pupils from the age of 10 up to Baccalaureate.
