How do you promote the holistic development of children in a day in Early Childhood Education? This is a question that many families ask themselves when their children start school. At Casvi Villaviciosa International School, we know that infant education is not just about learning letters or numbers. It is about forming complete people: curious, confident, autonomous and happy children.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT IS NOT TAKEN CARE OF?
A school day focused solely on academic content may seem effective… But it often neglects the most important thing: the emotional, social, creative and physical development of the child.
This not only limits their motivation and confidence. It can also affect the way they learn, relate to others and grow as a person.
That’s why every moment of the day counts. From the moment children walk in the door until they say goodbye, every experience must add to their overall development.

HOW DO YOU PROMOTE THE HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN IN A DAY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION?
At Casvi Villaviciosa, a day in Infants is designed to stimulate all the intelligences of the child. It is carried out following the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and applying the learning by doing methodology. In this video we tell you how we experienced it.
1. EMOTIONAL WELCOME
We start the day by greeting the children one by one. This daily gesture generates affective security, and helps us to detect how they feel. Emotional development begins with feeling seen and heard.

2. ENQUIRY AND ACTIVE LEARNING
From scientific activities to transdisciplinary projects, everything starts from real questions that arouse curiosity:
“Why do some objects float and others don’t?”
“How can we take care of water?
This inquiry-based approach is part of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), and develops critical thinking, creativity and communication.
“My son comes home happy to tell what he has created every day”.
3. CREATIVITY AND SENSORY EXPRESSION
4. HEALTHY HABITS
Eating in a group, washing hands, tidying up their space… These are daily routines that strengthen autonomy and good habits from an early age.
5. MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION
English is used on a daily basis, with German and Chinese being introduced later. This approach enhances cognitive plasticity and opens the door to an international education.

6.- NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND ROBOTICS IN CHILDREN'S EDUCATION
At Casvi Villaviciosa, children are familiarised with new technologies from an early age. From the age of 4, they begin to work with digital tools adapted to their level of maturity, which favours responsible and creative technological literacy.
We also introduce educational robotics, an innovative way of developing logical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. Always in a playful and meaningful way. In addition, we use manipulative materials and simple visual languages that allow children to programme without the need to know how to read or write.
All these experiences not only stimulate their curiosity, but also enhance key skills for the 21st century. This is the case of innovation, perseverance and adaptability.

CASVI VILLAVICIOSA: EDUCATION THAT LEAVES ITS MARK FROM THE AGE OF 3 YEARS OLD
At Casvi Villaviciosa we are clear about how to promote the integral development of children in a day in Infant Education. We believe in an education where the child lives, explores, questions, creates, feels and thinks every day.
Our teaching team plans each day with a clear intention. And that is none other than to encourage all-round development in a warm, active environment adapted to each stage.
As an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) school, we apply an educational model that prepares for the future… without forgetting the importance of the present.
