Once again this year, the Preschool Education pupils at Casvi Villaviciosa International School have “travelled” around the world without leaving the classroom thanks to Internationality Week.
For several days, the little ones have explored countries such as New Zealand, Colombia, United States, China, Mexico and Germany, as well as other English-speaking countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa. And they have done so to learn to look at the world with curiosity, respect and empathy.
OBJECTIVE: DISCOVERING THE WORLD FROM THE CLASSROOM
The purpose of this activity is to awaken interest in other cultures and languages from an early age. All within the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) methodology implemented at all stages of the school.
Through games, songs, dances, tastings and handicrafts, the pupils:
- They discovered different nationalities and flags.
- They learned about popular foods and traditions.
- They reflected on their own place in the world.
“We want them to understand that the world is diverse and that this is what makes it so beautiful. Curiosity is the first step in forming global citizens,” explains one of the teachers in charge of the activity.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF INTERNATIONALITY WEEK?
This initiative, organised by the English Department, encourages students to develop the key skills of the International Baccalaureate profile:
- Open-mindedness, to appreciate other perspectives.
- Solidarity, to understand and respect differences.
- Integrity, to act with empathy and consistency.

INTERNATIONALITY, A PILLAR OF CASVI'S EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
At Casvi Villaviciosa, internationality is not limited to one week: it is a way of understanding education. It is present in every aspect of everyday life:
- Multilingualism: English from Year 1, and German and Chinese from Year 5 Primary, with native and bilingual teachers.
- Language exchanges organised directly by the school with schools all over the world.
- International student body and teaching staff, which enriches coexistence and daily learning.
This global education enables our students to understand the world, to communicate with it and to be an active part of it, preparing them for their academic and personal future.
At Casvi we believe that an education based on internationality is the best inheritance we can give our children.
IN CASVI VILLAVICIOSA WE TRAIN CITIZENS OF THE WORLD
In a global and changing society, raising children with an international and empathetic mindset is the best inheritance we can offer them. From the earliest stages, we help them discover that diversity is an opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future together.
